A few facts about Yankee Candle you may not know

Yankee Candle launch new scents every season. It is usually 3-4 scents per quarter. In addition Yankee Candle launch limited editions of 2-4 scents, twice a year.

Yankee Candles are made from paraffin wax. The wax and fragrance oils used in Yankee Candles are sensitive to both temperature and light. Extreme heat will cause your Yankee Candle to fade or discolour, extreme cold causes cracking and separation. Therefore, is it important to store your jar in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. It is recommended by Yankee Candle that your candle should not burn for more than four hours at a time. The candle should be extinguished, allow to cool for two hours and you should trim the wick 3mm before relighting. A Yankee Candle wick trimmer makes this task easy and creates a nice clean cut that properly maintains the wick.

What are the burn times of Yankee Candle products?

  • Large jars: 110-150 hours
  • Medium jars: 65-75 hours
  • Small jars: 25-30 hours
  • Votives: up to 15 hours
  • Wax Melts: 8 hours
  • Melt-cups: up to 24 hours
  • Tea lights: up to 24 hours

For safety’s sake – how to burn your Yankee Candle the proper way

Yankee Candle recommends the use of the Illuma-Lids to prevent tunnelling and to promote a clean, even burn that uses every inch of wax. The Illuma-Lid sits on top of the large or medium jars and helps to steady the flame so that an even wax pool is formed. The specially designed shape of the Illuma-Lid helps to keep the heat of the flame inside the jar. The result is a jar that burns clean and even while allowing superb distribution of the fragrance. Yankee Candle recommend that you discontinue use of your candle when 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. The glass can get hot on the bottom as the flame nears the base which may cause heat damage to the counter/surface.

Yankee Candles should be burned away from drafts, other heat sources and anything flammable. Make sure burning candles are out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
